Head of DFR and the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) discussed National Peace and the latest Political developments.

Erbil, Kurdistan Region ( –Head of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), Minister Falah Mustafa, received Director of the Middle East and North Africa Programs at the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP), Dr. Eli Abouaoun.

In the meeting, which was also attended by Assistant Head of DFR Ms. Siham Mamand, and Judy Mazen of USIP, Dr. Eli Abouaoun gave a briefing on the activities of the Institute in the Middle East.

Minister Mustafa then gave an overview of current situation in Kurdistan Region while both sides stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between DFR and USIP.

The two sides, also, discussed the National Peace, the latest political developments, and the dialogue process between Erbil and Baghdad. 

The United States Institute of Peace was founded in 1984 by the US Congress and is based in Washington, DC. It was established with the aim of preventing and resolving violent international conflicts, promoting post-conflict stability, democratic transformation, and consolidating peace.
