Prime Minister Barzani receives British ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received British Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Jon Wilks, British Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Martyn Warr, and their accompanying delegation.

They discussed the situation in the Kurdistan Region, the upcoming parliamentary election and the post-electoral process in Iraq as well as the formation of the new government in Baghdad.

They hoped that the Kurdish parties will play an effective role in the formation of the new government, that can resolve the challenges facing the country.

They also discussed the progress made in the talks between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi federal government, which resulted in solving a number of issues. They hoped that broader talks after the formation of the new Iraqi government, will lead to settle all outstanding issues.

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – The Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of KRG, Minister Falah Mustafa Bakir accompanied by Ms. Siham Mamand, the Assistant Head of DFR, welcomed Ms. Beata Pęksa, the new Ambassador of Poland to Iraq, to exchange views on the latest political developments, process of dialogue between Baghdad-Erbil, internal challenges of KRI, and Iraq's upcoming elections of the Council of Representatives.

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) held on 3rd May 2018, in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Relations, a conference to review guidelines of local, national, and international observers for the upcoming Iraqi Elections to cover operational issues such as security, communication systems and electoral facilities.

Italian Consulate Celebrates its National Day in Erbil

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Minister Falah Mustafa, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of Kurdistan Regional Government, on Sun 13, May 2018, participated in the celebration of the Italian National Day; “Festa della Republica” along with Dr. Fuad Hussein, Chief of Staff to the Kurdistan Region Presidency, Mr. Safeen Dizayee, (KRG) spokesperson, on behalf of the Prime Minister Barzani, Mr. Karim Sinjari, the Minister of Interior and acting Minister of Peshmerga of KRG. Mr. Bruno Pasquino the Ambassador of Italy to Iraq and Ms. Serena Muroni, Italian consul in Erbil were present to host the guests. The reception was also attended by number of KRG Officials, diplomats, and foreign representatives.
