Head of DFR welcomes New Polish Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – The Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of KRG, Minister Falah Mustafa Bakir accompanied by Ms. Siham Mamand, the Assistant Head of DFR, welcomed Ms. Beata Pęksa, the new Ambassador of Poland to Iraq, to exchange views on the latest political developments, process of dialogue between Baghdad-Erbil, internal challenges of KRI, and Iraq's upcoming elections of the Council of Representatives.

Minister Mustafa expressed his sincere congratulations upon her appointment as a Polish Ambassador to Iraq and wished her success in her new responsibilities. Minister Mustafa also emphasized on the strong ties between Kurdistan Region with Poland and, expressing DFR readiness to collaborate, describing both KRG Office of Representative to Poland and the Consular Agency of the Republic of Poland in Erbil as an important channel for the development and strengthening their bilateral relations.

 

On her side, Ambassador Pęksa thanked Minister Mustafa for the warm welcome and expressed her delight to visit the Kurdistan Region for the first time. The Ambassador stressed opportunities for further developing economic, commercial, educational and humanitarian relations. She also expressed support  to the activities of Polish non-governmental organizations in terms of providing humanitarian assistance to refugees and displaced persons.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to developing and strengthening bilateral relations, investment and humanitarian efforts.




Assistant Head of DFR bids farewell to outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Iraq

German Consul General affirms strong ties with the Kurdistan Region on a farewell visit to DFR

For the past a year, Kurt Georg Stockl-Stillfried represented the Federal Republic of Germany in Kurdistan Region as Consul General.
