New Consul of the Arab Republic of Egypt begins tenure in Kurdistan Region

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Falah Mustafa Bakir, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of KRG welcomed Mourad Mohamed Youssry, who recently assumed his duties as the Consul of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Kurdistan Region on Thursday 6, September.

Head of DFR congratulated Mourad Youssry on his appointment and ensured him of the cooperation and support of DFR during the term of his tenure. The Minister also highlighted the historical relations between Egypt and Kurdistan Region and hoped for further enhancement of the existing ties. DFR Head, in addition, gave the incoming Consul, an overview of the recent political developments in Iraq and the Region, in particular,  efforts of forming next Iraqi government and upcoming Kurdistan Parliamentary elections which are scheduled to be held by the end of this month.

The newly appointed Consul expressed his delight over the warm welcome by the KRG Foreign Department and extended the commitment of his government to work towards enriching existing bilateral relations.

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Minister Falah Mustafa on April 15, 2019, participated in a ceremony to launch the Czech Academic City, together with the Czech Republic Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Martin Smolik, Consul General Mr. Michal Svoboda, and university heads and faculties. The launch was organized by Czech Technical University of Ostrava – VŠB.
