Prime Minister Barzani receives EU countries representatives

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received the Consuls and Representatives of the European Union countries in the Kurdistan Region.

They discussed the latest political developments, the situation in the Kurdistan Region and the preparations for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections to be held on 30 September. They welcomed the holding of the elections on time.

They reaffirmed European Union's support for the elections and the development of democratic life in the Kurdistan Region.

They also discussed the ongoing efforts to form a new government in Baghdad, considering the Kurdistan Region as a key partner in the formation of the new government and the political process in Iraq.

They agreed that the Iraqi elections and the formation of the new government should meet the demands of the Iraqi citizens in promoting security, stability, provision of services and development of the country in all respects.

They also discussed the development of the relations, the continuation of cooperation and coordination in various areas and the situation in the wider region.

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Minister Falah Mustafa on April 15, 2019, participated in a ceremony to launch the Czech Academic City, together with the Czech Republic Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Martin Smolik, Consul General Mr. Michal Svoboda, and university heads and faculties. The launch was organized by Czech Technical University of Ostrava – VŠB.
