Head of DFR attends National Day Reception of the People’s Republic of China in Erbil

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Head of the Foreign Relations Department, Minister Falah Mustafa, on behalf of the Kurdistan Regional Government attended an invitation, the National Day reception celebrating the 69th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China alongside other KRG Officials, Parliamentarians, Diplomats and Representatives of Political Parties held by the Chinese Consulate General in Erbil on 23 September 2018.

The Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Erbil, Ni Ruchi presented the opening speech ceremony where he welcomed guests and expressed his sincere gratitude and respect to the friends of the Kurdistan Region for its significant support for the Chinese Consulate General, and said “I have exchanged in-depth views on many issues with the people and the leaders of Kurdistan where I feel their high expectation to strengthen cooperation with China in various fields”.

“China continues to pursue deeper ties with the Kurdistan Region in all areas and encourages and supports capable and reputable Chinese companies to come to this Region to participate in the post-war reconstruction,” said Ni Ruchi, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Erbil. “We believe that the KRG and the Kurdish people will overcome the current economic and financial difficulties, and become a Region with a bright future.”

 

Minister Mustafa, Head of the KRG Foreign Relations Department, on behalf of Kurdistan Regional Government delivered a speech and Congratulated Chinese friends on the occasion of the 69th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Minister Mustafa also stated that the as a result of an open-door policy, the KRG today enjoys excellent relations with China and with a significant number of countries from all four corners of the world.

Minister Mustafa also touched upon the recent political situations in Kurdistan Region, upcoming Kurdistan Parliamentary elections due to take place on 30 September 2018, and the formation of the next Iraqi Federal government and said that the aim of the Kurdistan Region is to bring security and stability to all of Iraq, to build a diverse and resilient economy, and to have a government that truly represents all the people of Iraq equally. In addition, he stressed that the KRG remains committed to further developing Chinese-Kurdish relations and to continue cooperation between the two governments.




KRG UK Representation to organize an event for the Kurdistan trade delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (dfr.gov.krd) – The KRG UK Representation and the British Expertise International (BEI) organized an event for the Kurdistan Chambers of Commerce delegation led by Dara Jalil Khayat, Head of the Federation of Kurdistan Chambers of Commerce. The delegation composed of the Head of Erbil Chamber of Commerce, Dara Jalil Khayat, Head of Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce, Sirwan Muhamad, and Head of Duhok Chamber of Commerce, Ayad Abdulhalim in London.

 
Introductory meeting between New Egyptian Consul to Kurdistan Region and DFR Head, Falah Mustafa

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (dfr.gov.krd) – The new Consul of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Kurdistan Region, Ambassador Ahmed Jihad Hares visited the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR) and was received by Falah Mustafa, Head of DFR, and Siham Mamand, the Assistant Head and discussed current political developments, efforts to form the new KRG government and Erbil-Baghdad ties.

 
Poland’s Minister for Humanitarian Affairs visits Kurdistan Region and met with the KRG Officials

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (dfr.gov.krd) – Beata Kempa, Poland’s Minister for Humanitarian Aid visited the Kurdistan Region and was received by the Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), Minister Falah Mustafa, the Assistant Head of DFR, Siham Mamand, and the Governor of the Erbil, Nawzad Hadi, accompanied by the KRG Representative to Poland, Ziyad Raoof.

I am very happy to be here this evening to celebrate the 85th birthday of 125th Emperor of Japan, His Majesty Emperor Akihito. I would like to thank the Ambassador of Japan in Iraq, and the Head of the Consular Office in Kurdistan for hosting such a friendly and welcoming birthday celebration!

 

Head of DFR presents a seminar at the Lebanese French in Erbil

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (dfr.gov.krd) – The Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), Minister Falah Mustafa presented an academic seminar entitled “The Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Region and the Kurdish issue around the world” at the Lebanese French University (LFU) in Erbil. The LFU Presidency, the University Commission, Heads of Departments and a number of students were also in attendance.


Dutch Foreign Minister, Stef Blok pays an official visit to Erbil

Swedish Embassy Office in the Kurdistan Region celebrates a Winter Reception in Erbil
