Prime Minister Barzani receives Egypt's new Consul to Kurdistan Region

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received the new Consul of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Kurdistan Region, Ahmed Jihad Hares, and his accompanying delegation.

Prime Minister Barzani congratulated Consul Hares and wished him success in his new position. He expressed his government’s desire to further develop relations with the Arab Republic of Egypt, especially in the fields of trade and tourism.

Prime Minister Barzani gave a brief overview of the fight against ISIS, the post-ISIS situation, relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, improvement of the economic situation, and current efforts to form the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Consul Hares gave a brief description of Egypt’s activities in the Kurdistan Region and expressed his country's desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of science, tourism and trade.

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (DFR.GOV.KRD) –  The KRG Department of Foreign Relations coordinated with the Iraqi Federal Foreign Ministry, under the directive of the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, to help 118 citizens from Mosul and Kirkuk stranded who are in Saudi Arabia for Umrah due to the Coronavirus pandemic safely return home through Erbil International Airport. They returned directly to Mosul and Kirkuk by bus.

This pivotal resolution called on the former Iraqi regime to end violent repression of its citizens, especially the people of Iraqi Kurdistan. In immediate response to this resolution, a dozen countries formed a coalition to provide security and humanitarian assistance to citizens from Iraqi Kurdistan who fled to neighboring countries.

 

 

139 Kurdistani citizens from Sweden and 84 others from Emirates safely returns home

The processes of repatriating Kurdistani citizens are coordinated between the KRG’s Department of Foreign Relations and the Iraqi Federal Foreign Affairs Ministry with the KRG’s Representation in Sweden; the KRG Representation in Baghdad; the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in Iraq and the and the Iraqi Airways.

A group of Kurdistani citizens safely returns home from Germany and the UK

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (http://DFR.GOV.KRD) –  Under the directives of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, a number of Kurdish citizens stranded abroad due to the suspension of air traffic have safely returned home to the Kurdistan Region. The exact numbers count 107 people from Germany and 163 from the United Kingdom.
