Minister Falah Mustafa holds productive meeting with European countries’ heads of diplomatic missions

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – for the purpose of discussing current important issues and developments in Kurdistan Region and Iraq, Minister Falah Mustafa, Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR) held a productive meeting in the presence of Ms. Clarisse Pasztory, Head of EU Liaison Office in Erbil, with the attendance of Consul General and Representatives of the United Kingdom, Republic of France, Federal Republic of Germany, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Republic of Czech, Republic of Hungary, Hellenic Republic, Consular Agency and Commercial Offices of the Republic of Poland, Romania and Bulgaria.

Minister Falah Mustafa, Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR) presented a brief on the latest political and security developments in Kurdistan and Iraq, Erbil-Baghdad relations and the latest on government formation and reactivating the institution of the presidency. He also thanked them for their contribution and continued cooperation to the Kurdistan Region; their assistance to refugees and IDPs and in the war against ISIS, and also for their effective role in the reconstruction of libration areas.

The diplomatic representatives discussed their latest activities, taking into account the latest political developments in the region and beyond, and stressed the continuation of their work with the KRG institutions in many areas of cooperation.

The Assistant Head of DFR, Ms. Siham Mamand, and General Director at the DFR, Dr. Abdul Salam Rasheed, also attended the meeting.

KRG Department of Foreign Relations condemns in the strongest terms today’s attack which caused the deaths of two people, including a Turkish diplomat, and the injury of one other person, and extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery for the injured.

The main perpetrator responsible for the Erbil restaurant shooting on July 17 has now been arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Unit of Kurdistan Region, following a large-scale search operation. He has been named as Mazlum Dag.
