Kurdistan Region and South Korea reiterate broadening of bilateral relations

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (dfr.gov.krd) - Minister Mustafa, the Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), received Mr. Park Young-Kyu, the Consul General of the Republic of Korea, and the new Deputy Consul General, Mr. Park Jung – Sik.   

In the meeting, which was also attended by Assistant Head of DFR Ms. Siham Mamand, the Head of DFR welcomed the new Deputy Consul General and wished him success in his tasks. He also expressed the readiness of the DFR to continue its support in further enhancing the bilateral relations between Korea and Kurdistan Region.

Mr. Young-Kyu thanked Minister Mustafa for the warm welcome and support and congratulated the Government and people of Kurdistan on the occasion of Nawroz. He also shed light on the activities of the Korean International Cooperation Agency KOICA and Korean companies operating in the Region.

The Minister renewed the appreciation of the DFR and KRG to the Government of Korea and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for their efforts and projects since 2003. Minister Mustafa also expressed support to future projects of KOICA and stressed on the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
