Head of DFR Safeen Dizayee discusses developing closer bilateral cooperation with Korean Consul General

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Minister Safeen Dizayee met on July 23 Mr. Choi Kwang-jin, Korea’s Consul General and his colleagues from the Consulate of South Korea in Kurdistan Region.

Consul General Jin congratulated Minister Dizayee on his appointment as the new Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Kurdistan Regional Government and wished him success in carrying out his important duties. He said that Korea seeks to strengthen its relations with Kurdistan Region in many areas of cooperation, especially on the economy and culture.

Minister Dizayee commended the efforts of the Korean Consulate in Erbil to build a good linkage and to support Kurdistan’s private sector. He said that Kurdistan has a policy of openness to all the countries that can support Kurdistan Region’s economy and stability, to their mutual benefit.

The minister also addressed recent political and security developments in Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the region.

Minister Dizayee and Consul General Jin agreed to promote practical cooperation, through conferences, training courses and delegations’ visits.




Minister Dizayee ends a productive week in Washington with senior US Administration meetings

White House hosts Minister Dizayee for meeting on KRG-US partnership

Minister Safeen Dizayee and Representative to the US Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman were hosted at the White House today for a meeting with Rob Greenway, the Special Assistant to President Donald Trump and Senior Director for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, as well as staff of the National Security Council.

Minister Dizayee, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations, and KRG Representative to the United States Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman met in the Senate with Senator Jack Reed, Ranking Member on the Armed Services Committee, and Senator Susan Collins, who sits on the Intelligence and Appropriations committees.

 

 

Minister Safeen Dizayee holds round table with EU countries’ diplomats in Erbil

Minister Safeen Dizayee, the Head of the KRG Department of Foreign Relations, on 8 December held a round table meeting with the diplomatic missions of the European Union countries in the Kurdistan Region. The EU diplomats were headed by Mr Vincent-Guillaume Poupeau, the Head of the EU Liaison Office in Erbil, with the Consul Generals of Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Bulgaria, and Deputy Consul General of France.
