Minister Dizayee looks forward to more economic cooperation at China’s 70th anniversary celebration of founding of the People's Republic

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (dfr.gov.krd) – Minister Safeen Dizayee, Head of Kurdistan’s Department of Foreign Relations on 30 September made a speech at the celebration in Erbil for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. He attended the Chinese Consulate General’s reception together with Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, and Mr. Ni-Ruchi, the Chinese Consul General in Erbil.

Minister Dizayee on behalf of the people and government of Kurdistan Region congratulated the people and government of China on the 70th anniversary of the nation’s founding, China’s National Day. He said he was hopeful of closer bilateral ties, noting that China has significant experience of economic reform and an open policy towards the world, and the Kurdistan Region can learn from this.

Minister Dizayee thanked China for opening their Consulate General during the economic crisis and the war against ISIS, and thanked the Chinese Consul General for developing good ties with the Kurdistan Region. He assured Mr. Ni-Ruchi of the KRG’s full support to strengthen commercial areas. Minister Dizayee said that the KRG supports China’s continued engagement in the Region.

Consul General Ni-Ruchi  in his speech briefed the guests on the developmental history of China, the world’s second largest economy and one of the largest investors in the world. China has increased its international trade and developed international ties through the Chinese principles of peace and non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs, he said. 

Mr. Ni Ruchi said that China and Kurdistan Region’s economic cooperation is growing, and he Chinese companies in recycling, waste gas, industry, education, agriculture and many other areas to develop in the future. A memorandum of understanding has been signed for the study of the Kurdish language at the Confucius Institute of China, and the study of Chinese language at Salahaddin University in Erbil.

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (DFR.GOV.KRD) –  The KRG Department of Foreign Relations coordinated with the Iraqi Federal Foreign Ministry, under the directive of the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, to help 118 citizens from Mosul and Kirkuk stranded who are in Saudi Arabia for Umrah due to the Coronavirus pandemic safely return home through Erbil International Airport. They returned directly to Mosul and Kirkuk by bus.

This pivotal resolution called on the former Iraqi regime to end violent repression of its citizens, especially the people of Iraqi Kurdistan. In immediate response to this resolution, a dozen countries formed a coalition to provide security and humanitarian assistance to citizens from Iraqi Kurdistan who fled to neighboring countries.

 

 

139 Kurdistani citizens from Sweden and 84 others from Emirates safely returns home

The processes of repatriating Kurdistani citizens are coordinated between the KRG’s Department of Foreign Relations and the Iraqi Federal Foreign Affairs Ministry with the KRG’s Representation in Sweden; the KRG Representation in Baghdad; the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in Iraq and the and the Iraqi Airways.

A group of Kurdistani citizens safely returns home from Germany and the UK

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (http://DFR.GOV.KRD) –  Under the directives of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, a number of Kurdish citizens stranded abroad due to the suspension of air traffic have safely returned home to the Kurdistan Region. The exact numbers count 107 people from Germany and 163 from the United Kingdom.
